DHL are looking to recruit reliable and thorough Aircraft Response Colleague to join their team at Heathrow.
The role of Aircraft Response is to react to all Ad-hoc operational tasks as requested by the Operational Management team. You will support the cleaning teams and attend aircraft that have been cleaned and that also require further cleaning or cleaning enmities to be loaded.
The role requires for the AM to PM response team to liaise with the allocation team with any internal issues or customer requests such as attending aircraft which have not been cleaned correctly or requires some additional attention before departure. You will also be expected to secure clean the aircraft upon request and complete aircraft windscreen cleaning using the correct ground handling equipment ( working at height ).
The role is critical in ensuring a "right first time approach" and minimising any potential delays to our customers daily schedule by attending all Ad-hoc tasks and minimising disruption to customer proposition.
Main responsibilities
Safety and Security
• Reporting and monitoring Health & Safety proactively within the cleaning operation and reporting any issues to the Ops Team on duty.
• Being vigilant in monitoring the safety of our cleaning teams out on the ramp and stores areas.
• Using specialised Ground Handling Equipment - Minibuses, Large Transit Vans, Waste Vehicles, Aircraft Positioning Steps, Cherry Pickers.
• Adherence to Airside Security Procedures driving rules including airside speed limits
• Completing all vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift and capturing any defects.
• Working safely when using all ground handling equipment with the confidence to work at height.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Completing all Scheduled Pre - Departure inspections on Long Haul and Short Haul Aircraft that are allocated throughout the operational day
• Audit the aircraft cleaning specification when carrying out a Pre-departure aircraft checks ( Checking all Cabins are dressed and cleaned to British Airways cleaning Specs )
• Assist on any Enhanced routings on Short Haul flights and strip and dress the aircraft dressing as requested
• Collect CAT1 rubbish from the stands or any aircraft appearance enmities from the nodes and stands whilst ensuring nothing is left behind
• Hoover the aircraft upon request and clean all areas of the aircraft to agreed specifications.
• Support Operational Cleaning Teams during their flights to ensure no impact to scheduled flight departure time
• Feedback to the Allocations and First Line Managers of any issues on flights or that are noted out on the ramp
• Adherence to Aircraft secure clean processes and ensuring we are compliant with CAA regulations when completing pre departure checks.
• Use a PDA device to coordinate active jobs with the allocations team - Starting and finishing jobs on time and reporting any disturbance that effect completing a task on time.
Other Duties
• Complete aircraft call back requests as directed by our customer British Airways or allocations control team
• Drive allocated Response Van with Dressing and Blankets and deliver to aircrafts for loading
• Report passengers lost property and complete relevant documentation.
• Adjust Curtain Rails in Club Europe Class to the correct row as instructed by the Ops team
• Attend Aircraft Windscreen Clean requests upon request from our allocations team using the correct equipment and training.
• Collect Cleaning items from the stores and containers and deliver to the aircraft upon request
• Flight Deck Cleaning upon request and updating relevant Paperwork.
• Support Loading and stripping of Aircraft Blankets, Linen and Headsets.
• Support the stores team with loading and unloading vehicles.
• Performing cleaning duties on all aircraft and supporting the cleaning teams during tight Turn around or rapid tows.
• To be trained in all the relevant skill - GSS/GSO, Guide person ( for all vehicles ), Water Aqua Vac, Bio-hazards wearing the correct PPE.
Customer Interaction
• Liaise with BA ground team staff and Cabin Appearance leads including Cabin Crew during in the Turn around.
• Provide Support and advice on Aircraft cleaning completion to BA ramp team.
• Liaising with the customer around the timely departure of the aircraft (liaising with TCO to mitigate delays when dealing with response tasks in close proximity to departure)
