About The Role
DHL are looking to recruit energetic and safety minded Airside Loaders to join their team at Heathrow.
The Loader role is multifunctional and responsible for supporting the Transport High Lift driver and the Cleaning teams on board British Airways Aircrafts.  The Loader plays a pivotal role in removing soiled Laundry and replenishing soft product in the correct areas. 
Using a "Right First Time" approach, you will:
 
  • Take direction from Allocation Control room to ensure Engagement times are being monitored
  • Use the PDA correctly to ensure Allocation Control is aware of what task you are on
  • Take direction from the Cabin Quality Supervisor whilst working collaboratively with the Cleaning Teams
  • Remove Amenities from each Cabin and Rest Area
  • Load new Amenities into each Cabin
  • Strip Flight crew rest area and load Amenities  dependant on which Sector the aircraft is flying
  • Strip Cabin Crew rest area and load Amenities
  • A sweep of all Lockers and Wardrobes to ensure all Amenities have been removed
  • Remove Waste from Aircraft
  • Ensure Node Area is clear of Amenities
Main responsibilities
 
Safety and Security

• To be responsible for the Health and Safety of yourself and your colleagues by ensuring all tasks are carried out
to the relevant procedures and by adhering to safe working practices.
•To report all accidents and near misses in line with company policies
• Removal of Cat 1 Waste safely and securely from aircraft and disposing of the waste in the airport waste unit SAA area
• Follow Manual Handling procedures at all times
• Maintain the highest standards of safety and security at all times

Transport & Compliance

• Supporting the Transport and airside Operation in providing a professional and respectful approach to our main customer.
• Comply with all Transport and business operating and Legal requirements
•  Marshall the High lift vehicle onto aircraft doors and support operation with door opening and closing procedures. 
•  Checking High lift Vehicles loads are secure

Loading Airside standards 

•  Report any excesses, shortages or damages to Airside Support and Cabin Quality Supervisors
•  Assist cleaning team to ensure customer KPI's are met.
•  Maintain regular contact with Transport office and Airside Control room .
•  Delivering multi products to customers as per specification.
•  Checking Nodes and Jetty's for any rubbish or property of our customer reporting and removing 
• Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate Transport and shift managers 
•  Load cabin items in the respective cabin and place blankets and Pillows on seats as required
•  Liaise with BA customer Cabin Appearance team as required
•  Report any Quality issues with soft product and replace as required
About You

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to work safely within the Health and safety environmental guidelines, and ensure all vehicle checks are carried out prior to commencement of work, must have a flexible approach to work, and work effectively as part of a team, providing support in resolving problems and have a can do, right first time and passionate approach. In addition, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • A current UK driving licence
  • Able to get a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) and Counter Terrorism Check clearance (CTC)
  • Experience working within a cleaning role is desirable but not essential
  • Fluent in English
