About The Role

The Heathrow Employment & Skills Academy are seeking an experienced and supportive Data and IT Support Officer to join their team. The role of the Data and IT Support Officer is to assist Heathrow Employment & Skills Academy Manager with the day to day operation, data and IT function.

As a Data and IT Support Officer your key responsibilities include:

  • Collect and manage all data and communicate to Academy management
  • Analyse data for the business
  • Manage Heathrow Employment & Skills Academy IT functions, including IT setup, fault finding and support
  • Be the main point of contact for Heathrow Employment & Skills Academy (HESA) data
  • Liaise with HESA Teams to collate IT support requirements
  • Collate data from a range of sources to provide management information
  • Support in training new and existing team members on Digital systems
  • Maintain databases & spreadsheets to collect, record and report performance data and statistics on regular and ad hoc basis
  • Carry out data quality checks to ensure reporting is accurate
  • Day to day support and maintenance of the HESA digital systems
  • Develop a sustainable and productive working relationship with IT suppliers
  • Resolve team IT issues through direct fault finding and working with our IT partners
  • Ensure all IT requests are delivered to agreed timescales
  • Produce and distribute surveys on HESA services from colleagues and stakeholders
  • Collate and analyse survey data to report to management
  • Comply with GDPR regulation at all times and stay up to date with any regulatory changes
  • Undertake relevant training and participate in the delivery of our digital skills training programmes
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external parties in a professional manner
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the HESA standards, processes and procedures
  • Understand and promote the culture of safeguarding of all candidates/ learners who participate in HESA programmes
  • Take ownership for developing and retaining a professional and productive relationship with the team, business partners and candidates/ learners
  • Adhere to all of the rules and regulations associated with holding an Airside ID
  • Develop and maintain a culture of high expectations for self and others
  • Participate in any other reasonable duties/ projects as requested by the Line Manager
  • Meet all quality standards set out by the HESA, including commitment to, and promotion of, all policies including Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Airport security
  • Attend relevant meetings in accordance to the Heathrow Academy meeting schedule
About You

The ideal candidate for this role will have knowledge of Microsoft Windows advanced features and strong IT skills. In addition, you will have the following skills and experience:


  • Experience using Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows advanced features and options
  • Strong IT skills
  • Experience of working with sensitive/ confidential data
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Understanding of data capture and management
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems
