About The Role
CDG is looking to recruit a Commis Chef to join its team at Heathrow Airport. The purpose of this role is to assist in the preparation and cooking of food as directed by the Sous Chef/Head Chef/Kitchen Manager in line with brand and menu specifications.
As Commis Chef your key responsibilities include:
  • Being hospitable, cooperative and polite with guests and fellow front/back of house team members.
  • Ensuring guests receive all food requests to correct brand specification within appropriate timeframe.
  • Ensuring your food section is constantly supplied with the full range of menu items.
  • Cooking and preparing food items within your section to brand specifications.
  • Maintaining prep levels to help avoid shortages.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy appearance and working in an orderly manner in line with brand standards and legal requirements.
  • Storing food items correctly and in rotation to minimise wastage, using all company labelling and dating processes.
  • Assisting colleagues at every opportunity and ensuring good teamwork.
  • Adhering to all standards as outlined in Food Safety Management System and Health and Safety Worksafe System.
  • Communicating in an honest and open manner.
  • Assisting in the training of any new team members as required.
  • Completing cleaning duties as per cleaning rotas and instructions of Kitchen Manager/Duty Manager. 
  • Notifying the management team of any problems in your working area.
  • Completing all assigned shift duties.
  • Taking responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of all guests, colleagues and self at all times.
  • Helping the front of house and back of house teams and colleagues in carrying out duties to ensure an effective and efficient operation of the restaurant.
